Raccoons are highly adaptive animals and they eat almost anything to survive in urban areas. Not only do they use their manipulative paws to open garbage bins or door latches for food, they can also climb into attics to build their dens.
Raccoons are nocturnal animal, which means they are mostly active during the nighttime. They usually wake up after sunset, and then leave the nest to search for food. This is why homeowners may hear footsteps across the celling during the nighttime.

If the mother raccoon is separated from her offspring, she will do anything even destroy the area to get back to her young.
